New Korean Teas
Discover new Korean teas and beneficial herbs in the shop this month.
Ssanghwacha: A Korean herbal tea made from 10 different herbs and roots to boost vitality and energy. Traditionally used in Korea to boost immunity especially after illness, postpartum to replenish the body and regulate (caution with breastfeeding), improve blood circulation, cleanse the liver, relieve fatigue, and so much more. Consider this a replenishing tonic that includes jujube dates, ginger, kudzu root, astragalus, rehmannia glutinosa, white peony root, cnidium, licorice root, cinnamon and Korean angelica root.

Korean Hong Cha: Black Tea that has been hand rolled 9 times to remove any bitterness and tannins. This is the smoothest black tea with a hint of nectar. This is straight from a wild tea farm grown on Mt. Jirisan, where the first green tea was planted over 1200 years ago. This is a small sustainable farm that I personally visited and picked up some of his tea to bring back to the shop. There's only a limited number of bags for the season.
Korean Green Tea:
Korean Green Tea is considered to be a bit more mild and less bitter. Depending on the region, it comes off with a grassy, or umami taste. We have some from Jeju Island as well as Boesong. In shop we have also have Hwang cha (yellow tea) which is slightly oxidized, a little lighter in caffeine and with a brilliant light roasted taste. It's an amber tea that is delightful.
Korean Matcha is noted with the same profiles as above, with the green tea that is a bit more mild, slightly less better, this one is smooth enough for a ceremonial tea on its own, or added as a latte.
